Virtual Psychology

This is a telehealth practice, which means that sessions are held using a HIPAA compliant virtual platform. Clinical research has shown that telehealth and in-person services can achieve equivalent treatment outcomes. However, different people have different preferences, and some may find they prefer one type of treatment over the other. Below is a list of telehealth benefits to help you determine whether virtual services could be the right fit for you.

Easier access to care: Telehealth eliminates barriers related to transportation (e.g., availability, time, expense), making therapy more accessible to those who have difficulty traveling to in-person appointments.

Greater flexibility: Telehealth affords flexibility in booking appointments, as clients and therapists can more easily coordinate their schedules without the constraints of school/work hours and travel time.

Consistent care: Telehealth allows clients to connect for appointments they may have otherwise needed to cancel due to minor disruptions (e.g., illness, inclement weather, vacation).

Continuity of care: Telehealth enables clients to continue working with their therapist even when spending prolonged periods of time out of state (e.g., enrollment in university, work-related travel, home relocation).

Access to specialists: Telehealth makes it possible for clients to connect with out-of-state specialists who are trained and qualified to treat specific client needs.

Client comfort: Telehealth offers clients the opportunity to work through personal and sensitive topics from the comfort and privacy of their own homes.
